Elizabeth J. "Betty" Kannall of Highland, formerly of Beckemeyer, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Barnes/Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 86 years. She was born in Bartelso on April 2, 1925, the daughter of John and Mary (Huene) Schroeder. She married Anthony C. Kannall Sr. on June 26, 1948 in St. Louis and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1993.
Betty is survived by her children: Mary Rademeyer and husband Pete of Carmel, Indiana, Patricia Kannall Stoecklein of Tipton, Missouri, Constance Kannall of Beckemeyer, Thomas Kannall and wife Celia of Breese, Anthony "Tony" Kannall Jr. And wife Ruth of Ashley, and Michael "Mike" Kannall of St. Louis; a brother: Arnold Schroeder of Aviston; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Betty retired from the Wee Walker Shoe Company in Carlyle and later enjoyed being a housewife. She was a member of St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer and the Holthaus-Kampwerth American Legion Post #1227 Auxiliary of Beckemeyer.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation services were performed.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating.
The family suggests memorials made in Betty’s honor to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
