Elizabeth “Liz” Zimmermann, 90, of New Baden, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born August 16, 1927 in Carlyle, the daughter of Walter and Gertrude (Netemeyer) Ingram. She married Emmett Zimmermann on November 5, 1947 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden and he preceded her in death on September 1, 1998.
She is survived by her children, John Zimmermann of New Baden, Jo Ann (Barry) Heady of St. Louis, MO, Jean (Jeff) Stempel of New Baden, James (Kim) Zimmermann of Highland, and Jeffrey (Kay) Zimmermann of St. Charles, MO; 9 grandchildren, Brandy (Josh) Thayer, Alicia (fiancé, Keith Burton) Renth, Clayton (Alicia) Renth, Megan (Cory) Swinney, Adam Stempel, Tanner Zimmermann, Riley Zimmermann, Kyle Zimmermann, and Courtney (fiancé, Andrew Glock) Zimmermann; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Virginia “Lee” Zimmermann of Trenton.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, John Ingram in Korea in 1952; a sister, Ann Wellen; and brothers-in-law, Leroy Zimmermann and Bud Wellen.
Mrs. Zimmermann was a homemaker and a member of St. George Parish in New Baden.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden.
