Bernadette M. Ellner, 72, of New Memphis, died Sunday, January 7, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born April 9, 1934 in Warren County, MI, daughter of Loren Dickens. She married John M. Ellner September 15, 1980 in Wainsville, MO and he survives in New Memphis. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother-in-law, Josephine M. Barbeau of Prairie Du Rocher, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Beverly Ellner of Red Bud, Mark and Lynette Ellner of Prairie Du Rocher, and Mary Davis. Her father preceded her in death. Mrs. Ellner was a Registered Nurse and was charge nurse at several major hospitals in the United States during her career. She was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. Her hobby was sewing. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
