Escobar, John Frederick

John Frederick Escobar, 62, of Germany and formerly of California, died Monday, June 3, 2013 in Bangor, ME. He was born November 8, 1950 in Vallejo, CA, son of Matt and Olivia (Friederich) Escobar. He is survived by cousins in the United States and Germany, and many friends. Mr. Escobar was a customer service relations assistant at the US Army Hotel in Germany. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1968to 1971. John loved to travel, especially to Ireland, where he had good friends. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 9:45 a.m. until time of service Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.
