Judith J. “Judy” Ethridge, 67, of New Baden, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at her home. She was born March 19, 1947 in Breese, daughter of George and Emma (Jung) Lodes, Sr. She married Michael A. “Chick” Ethridge on November 24, 1966 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2011. Judy is survived by two daughters; Michelle “Shelly” Ethridge of Belleville and Kim (Rich) Dumstorff, Jr. of Trenton; two grandchildren; Drew and Emma Dumstorff; siblings, Alice Maxfield and Mary Billhartz both of New Baden, Becky (Donald) Schaefer of Belleville, Ralph (Ruthie) Lodes of New Baden, and Arnie (Anita) Lodes of Hershey, PA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Peggy & Chuck Lowder; and special family friends Kathy and Mel and nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, George G. Lodes and Laverne W. “Hon” Lodes; sisters-in-law, Bernice Lodes and Gert Lodes; and brothers-in-law, Cal Maxfield and Clarance Billhartz. Mrs. Ethridge was a beautician at B’s Beauty Shop in New Baden. She was a member of St. George Church in New Baden; enjoyed being with her grandchildren and was known as the family party planner. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Fr. Dale Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the church.
