E. Jean Brink, age 88, of Posey passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. Jean was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 4, 1931, the daughter of Melton and Hester (Brittan) Harmon. She married Alfred M. Brink on September 3, 1955 in Augusta, Georgia and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2007.
Jean is survived by her three children: Marie Reinhardt and husband Rob of Carlyle, Larry Brink and wife Tammy of Highland, and Dwayne Brink and wife Roxanne of Nashville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and her brother Clarence Harmon of South Carolina.
She was a farmer’s wife and for many years she delivered eggs from house to house in Centralia. She became lovingly referred to as the “egg lady”. Later in life her and Alfred owned and operated Brinks Corner Convenience Store in Posey. She loved to read and watch TV, especially the Hallmark channel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brink will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman.
Memorials made in memory of Jean are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
