Evelyn “Evie” B. Lammers, age 80, of Beckemeyer, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Breese Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Beckemeyer, Illinois, on September 10, 1944, the daughter of Vincent and Henrietta (Richter) Holthaus. She married Paul W. Lammers on November 27, 1963, and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2017.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Leroy (Lynn) Lammers, Leonard Lammers (fiancé Debbie Petrea) , Loren (Amy) Lammers, Lonnie (special friend Melissa Becker) Lammers, Lyle (Lisa) Lammers, and Lorna (Austin) Hubbard-Honer, all of Beckemeyer and son by heart, Dustin (Christie) Wuebbles of North Carolina; her grandchildren: Lindsay Lammers (special friend Nick Woltering), Laura (Geoff) Sprock, Brad Marshall, Larissa (Trent) Halstead, Meghan Marshall, Dylan Lammers and special friend Nicole Rice, Kevin (Lexi) Wurm, Miranda Compas (Jake), Logan (Erika) Lammers, Dallas (Taylor) Lammers, Landyn (Tabitha) Hubbard, Megan (Ethan) Cox, Addison Lammers (special friend Chad Lappe), Madi Lammers (special friend Jordan VonBokel), Bennett Lammers, and Jackson, Adeline, & Aden Wuebbles; her great-grandchildren: Sara & Jaxson, Kayelynn & Nora, Liam, Bella, Huxton & Hadley, Cameron, Sophie & Owen, Greyson & Eleanor, Jameson & Brinley, Kenzington & Emma, and excited about her 18th great-grandchild (Carson Wayne Cox) in June; her sister: Mary Beth (Dwight) Schubert; her in-laws: John Deiters, Barb Henkle, Carl (Helen) Lammers, Ron (Jane) Kleiboker, Mark (Sheila) Lammers, and David (Diane) Lammers.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother and father, a sister, Marcie Deiters, a sister-in-law, Joan Ellen Kleiboker, brothers-in-law, Wayne Lammers, Gene Henkel, & Herman Deiters, a son-in-law, Trevor Hubbard, and a grandson, Joseph Lammers.
Evelyn was a life-long member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Beckemeyer. She was the middle child of three girls. In her younger years, she worked at Rockwell and later retired from Carlyle Health Care in 1985. An avid crafter, she enjoyed everything from crocheting to ceramics. She also enjoyed playing Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She cherished time with family and friends, whether swimming in the pool during summer, listening to the hayride, or having loooong conversations. As many know, she loved to interact with everyone on Facebook. Above all, she was a loving ‘granny’ to many.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer, with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating assiated by Deacon Jay Fowler. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.
Memorials made in memory of Evie are suggested to Hooterfest and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
