Mary C. Eversgerd, 85, of Germantown, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at her home. She was born May 24, 1923 in Germantown, daughter of John C. and Clara T. (Brueggemann) Winkler. She married Bernard B. "Barney" Eversgerd May 24, 1955 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1984. She is survived by a brother, Joe Winkler of Germantown, a sister, Agnes (Paul Jansen) Hermeling of Germantown; nieces and nephews, Gerri (Jim) Haar of Germantown, Mary Jane (Mark) Schrage of St. Rose, Barb (Joe) Eilers of Breese, Patty Winkler of Houston, TX, Nancy (Gerald) Huelsmann of Breese, Brenda (Rob Kuhl) Winkler of Albers and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, John Winkler; a brother-in-law, George Hermeling; a sister-in-law, Helen Winkler and a niece, Karen Winkler. Mrs. Eversgerd worked for Brueggemann Draperies and also cleaned the St. Boniface rectory for 32 years. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish and Altar Sodality in Germantown and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Msgr. James Buerster officiating. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society and will be received at the funeral home.
