Eversgerd-Schurman, Loretta

Loretta G. Schurman -Eversgerd, 90, of Breese, died Friday, August 18, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born June 17, 1916 in Breese, daughter of Frank and Catherine (Kahrhoff) Winter. She married Maurice Schurman in 1940 in Breese and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1960. She married Victor B. Eversgerd on October 24, 1964 in Breese and he survives in Breese. She is survived by four sons, Larry M. Schurman and wife Judy of Carlyle, Gene F. Schurman and wife Linda of Breese, Jim F. Schurman and wife Kathy of Breese, and John P. Schurman and wife Val of Belleville; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and her first husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Winter and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Winter. Mrs. Eversgerd was a homemaker. She was a member of St. St. Dominic Parish. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, reading and crossword puzzles. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2006 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Pat Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2006 and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
