Vera M. Feltrop, 89, of Cumming, GA and formerly of Breese, IL, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at Tara Plantation in Cumming, GA. She was born June 27, 1924 in Breese, IL daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Hagen) Berndsen. She married Norbert R. Feltrop, Sr. on April 24, 1946 in Breese and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2000. Vera is survived by her children, Norb (Pam) Feltrop, Jr. of Canton, GA and Joan Nunn of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren, Eric Nunn, Brian (Christi) Nunn, Rachel Feltrop, Colin Feltrop and Sarah Feltrop; one great-grandchild, Gage Nunn; brother-in-law, Glennon Feltrop of Breese, sister-in-law, Marlene Leard of O’Fallon; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, William J. “Bill” Berndsen; three sisters, Eleanor Berndsen, Antoinette Berndsen, and Jane Koch; and a sister-in-law, DeEtta F. Berndsen. Mrs. Feltrop was very active in the operation of Circle Smelting in Beckemeyer, IL. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish for 89 years and she enjoyed bingo, bowling and fishing. Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Clinton County Humane Society and will be received at the funeral home.
