Florence M. Wolters, 83, of Albers, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at her home. She was born April 6, 1930 in Carlyle, daughter of Casper J. and Mathilda (Diekemper) Krebs. She married Ralph L. Wolters on September 30, 1952 in Carlyle and he survives in Albers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Janice (Don) Lampe of Aviston, Mary Kay (Mike) Gebke of Bartelso, Larry Wolters of Aviston, Deb (Gary) Santel of Damiansville and Allan (Bonnie) Wolters of Germantown; 11 grandchildren, Lynn (Corey) Huegen, Bob (Amy) Lampe, Denise (Helamon) Castillo, Aaron (Jill) Gebke, Eric (Michelle) Gebke, Megan Gebke, Jennifer (Corey) Ripperda, Nathan Santel, Brittany Wolters, Melissa Wolters, and Nicholas Wolters; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Krebs of Carlyle; three sisters, Adelpha C. “Dolly” Lampe of Breese, Helen Luebbers of Carlyle, and Lorraine Huelskamp of Breese; and a sister-in-law, Frieda Schomaker of New Baden. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Jansen; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Benedict Lampe, Sally Krebs, Ted Luebbers, Dennis Huelskamp, Clem Jansen, Joseph “Joe” & Marie Wolters, Sr., Fred “Fritz” & Cecilia Wolters, Catherine “Katie” & John Gress, John & Pauline Wolters, Cecilia & Aloys “Ollie” Niemann, Bertha “Bert” & Charles Horstmann, Mary Louise & Sylvester Ratermann, Josephine & Claude Gunn, Dorothy “Dort” & Richard Richter, Edwin Schomaker, and Otto Wolters and Wilbert Wolters in infancy. Mrs. Wolters was a cook at Deco Snack Bar at Scott Air Force Base. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Altar Sodality in Albers. Florence enjoyed quilting, cooking, camping, and especially her trips and camping buddies. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Rev. Jack Joyce officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. Memorials may be made for Masses or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
