Bernadine Frankovich, nee Behrman, 90, of Albers, died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born August 31, 1920 in Lively Grove, daughter of Anton and Catherine (Dingwerth) Behrman. She married Bernard M. Frankovich on November 22, 1945 at St. Bernard Church in Albers and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1970. She is survived by her children, Claudette Frankovich, Phyllis (Brad) Albers all of Albers, Terry (Phyllis) Frankovich of Aviston, Tom Frankovich of Hemet, CA, Brian Frankovich of New Baden, and Ken (Kathleen) Frankovich of Narragansett, RI; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Dull, Stacy (Kyle) Lentz, Melanie (Dave) Holden, Heather (Brian) Luitjohan, Brett Frankovich, Victoria Frankovich, Paige Frankovich, and Kyle Frankovich; three step grandchildren, Jeff Albers, Tammy Albers and Brittany Mueller; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Lentz, Charlie Lentz, Anderson Lentz, Bernard Luitjohan, Bella Luitjohan, and Gabbi Luitjohan; a sister, Eleanor Huegen, a brother, Urban "Shorty" (Dorothy) Behrman, and a sister-in-law, Rita Zollner all of Albers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Claude Frankovich and a brother-in-law, Del Huegen. Mrs. Frankovich was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Ladies Sodality, the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers. She was a volunteer at area nursing homes and was also a member of the Senior Citizens in Germantown. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, dancing, and her grandkids. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. Memorials may be made to the St. Bernard Parish Building Fund, for Masses, or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
