Friederich, Catherine

Catherine C. Friederich, 101, of New Baden, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Trenton Village in Trenton, IL. She was born May 23, 1913 in New Baden, daughter of Patrick J. and Minnie (Boettcher) Bann. She married Earl J. “Mickey” Friederich on May 23, 1935 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden, IL and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1998. She is survived by her children, Jim Friederich of New Baden, Bob (Tina) Friederich of Fairview Heights, Marva Daters of DuQuoin, and Norma Miller of New Baden; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Bill Daters and John Miller. Mrs. Friederich was a telephone operator in New Baden and retired from Scott Air Force Base. She was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at the New Baden City Cemetery in New Baden, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society and will be received at the funeral home.
