Friederich, Virginia

Virginia M. Friederich, 84, of New Baden, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland. She was born December 27, 1922 daughter of Emil and Rosina (Lammle) Friederich, Sr. She is survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert J. Friederich, Emil Friederich, Jr.; two sisters, Olivia Escobar, Alice Frerking; brothers-in-law, Matt Escobar, George Frerking; sister-in-law, Emma Friederich and nephew, Steven Friederich. Ms. Friederich was a homemaker and caretaker of her parents and brother. She was a member of St. George Parish and New Baden Senior Citizens. Her hobby was collecting angels. In her younger days, she loved traveling and even visited her mother’s birthplace in Germany. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. The Senior Citizens will visit at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be received at the funeral home.
