Gary L. Leslie

Gary L. Leslie, 71, of Beckemeyer died Saturday March 20, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville. He was born in Breese, IL on March 12, 1939 the son of Harold and Hazel (Dorries) Leslie, and they preceded him in death.Gary is survived by two brothers: Bill Leslie and wife JoAnn of Beckemeyer, Arlen Leslie and wife Diane of Tunnel Hill, IL. Five Nieces and Nephews: Mike Leslie and wife Nancy, Melanie Velasco and husband Filly, Becky Bessier and husband Philip, Matt Leslie and wife Michele. Eleven Great Nieces and Nephews: Austin, Selena, Diego, Preston, Isabella, Nia, Philip III, Ashton, Sean, Hannah, and Maya.Mr. Leslie worked in the Central Supply Department at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville for 42 years before retiring. Gary served in the United States Navy as a corpsman 3rdclass. He enjoyed boating and sports. Gary also like to travel and had a great interest in cars. He loved to be surrounded by his family especially his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 24, 2010 at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Soders officiating. Interment will follow at the Beckemeyer Cemetery.Friends may visit with the Leslie family from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday March 23, 2010 at the Frerker Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 11 AM.Memorials may be made in Gary’s honor to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the charity of donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
