Genny E. Endres, 87, of Germantown, IL, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Carlyle Healthcare Center. She was born January 17, 1930 in Breese, the daughter of August T. and Alice (Schlarmann) Huelsmann. She married Virgil Endres on January 20, 1948 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2016.
She is survived by a brother, Herbert “Hugo” Huelsmann of Seymore, TN; five sisters, Dorothy Hasenstab of Belleville, Edna Niebur of Edwardsville, Evelyn Pakosta of Trenton, Pauline Billhartz of Highland, and Connie Street of St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dolores Fonke of Breese, Norman & Rosaline Endres of Germantown, Anthony A. & Mary Endres and Jerome & Ruth Endres all of Breese; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Earl Hasenstab, Mel Niebur, Fred Pakosta, Vernon Billhartz, Robert B. & Valeria Kuhl, George & Florence Sarten, Margie Huelsmann, and Ralph Fonke.
Mrs. Endres was a clerk at Wickes Lumber Company in Breese for 20 years before her retirement in 1985. Genny enjoyed her life farming with her husband, Virgil. She enjoyed her chickens, helping milk cows, and all the excitement of being a farmer’s wife. She was a member of St. Boniface ladies sodality, where she enjoyed quilting and designing quilts; she also enjoyed bowling and traveling. Genny and Virgil retired, and then moved to Forsyth, MO where they enjoyed fishing and being very active with church functions.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial at a later date will be held at Ozark Memorial Park in Branson, MO.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is in charge of arrangements.
