Gerald Lee Diekemper of Wellsville, MO. died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his friend’s home in Wentzville, Mo. at the age of 65 years. Jerry was born in Breese, Illinois on December 5, 1948, the son of Harold (Bud) and Julia (Roche) Diekemper.
Jerry is survived by his son: Christopher Dunbar and wife Stacia of Atlanta, GA;, 2 grand children: Jake and Morgan; one brother: Lee Diekemper of St. Petersburg, FL.; his life long friend Terry Dudley; and girlfriend Reba Murray.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Lawrence and Charles Diekemper.
Jerry was a graduate of Mater Dei Catholic High School in Breese, IL.
Before he retired he worked 30 years at Kolb Grading in Weldon Springs, MO. He had been a member of the Laborers Union. He enjoyed traveling, bird watching, increasing the wildlife population on his farm and delivering meals for the Senior Center in Montgomery City, MO.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Diekemper will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Carlyle, IL with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the St. Mary Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
