Gerald "Jerry" Taylor

Gerald (Jerry) Taylor, 76, of Carlyle passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. He was born October 3, 1941 in Newport RI to John and Linda (Weaver) Taylor who preceded him in death. He married Janet Gain on September 18, 1976 and she preceded him in death on November 1, 2013.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Jeremy) Spaeth, his son Mark (Shannon) Taylor, his grandsons Brennan and Nolan Taylor, a sister Janice (John) Hayward, sister-in-law’s Carolyn Faries, Pat Taylor, and Rosemary Gain and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brother Jack Taylor, his mother and father in law Harold and Esther Gain, his sister and brother in laws Ronald Gain, Joan Gain, Nancy and Earl Rensing, and Judy and Ray Kraus and a niece Erynn Hayward.

Jerry was retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of the Goldsmith Terry VFW Post #3523. He was an avid golfer and reader and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Bob Rakers officiating. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Memorials made in Jerry’s name are suggested to his family and will be received at the funeral home.
