Gordon Paul Humbracht, age 83, of New Baden, IL, passed away on January 23, 2025, at Cedarhurst of Breese. He was born on December 14, 1941, in Elgin, Illinois, to Albert and Helen (Sederstram) Humbracht. On June 5, 1965, he married Linette Dugas at St. Mary's in Balboa Canal Zone, Panama; she survives him in New Baden.

In addition to his loving wife of nearly 60 years, he is survived by his four daughters: Pamela Richardson and her husband Leo of Littleton, CO; Pauline Brinkley-Tassallo and her husband Steve Tassallo of Fairview Heights, IL; Deborah Randolph and her husband Matt of O'Fallon, IL; and Danielle Duis and her husband Lee of Bradenton, FL. His cherished grandchildren: Tristin (Richardson) Fell and her husband Gage, Devon Richardson, Kyle Brinkley, Ryan Brinkley, Michael Brinkley and his wife Rebekah (Harr), Cassandra Tassallo and Madison Tassallo, Deva Randolph, James Randolph, Riley Randolph, and Jackson Randolph, Elise Duis, and Lex Duis, as well as his great-grandchildren: Juliette Fell, Eloise Fell, Josslyn Brinkley, and Violet Brinkley. He is also survived by his nephews, Ross Humbracht and Michael Humbracht.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Humbracht.

Gordon was raised in Elgin, IL where he graduated high school and went on to receive a degree from Northern Illinois University. He then enlisted in the Air Force and attended Officer Training School. While on his first assignment at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS, he met his wife, Lin, on a blind date. Gordon and Lin began their family adventures which took them all over the world! He retired as an Air Force Captain at Scott Air Force Base where he continued working in Civil Service.

Settling in New Baden, he enjoyed attending local auctions and was an avid collector of toy tractors and vintage toy trucks. He also enjoyed gardening and tinkering with tools and various projects.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery, with full military honors.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025, and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.

In remembrance of Gordon, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice, which can be sent to Nordike Funeral Home, 15 East Hanover Street, New Baden, IL 62265.
