John Patrick “Pat” Hansen, 61, of Breese, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born November 14, 1953 in Emporia, KS, son of John and Elizabeth (Weller) Hansen. He married Carol Headley on August 21, 1976 in Kewanee, IL and she survives in Breese. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Laura (Scott) Wesselmann of St. Rose, Brian (Mary) Hansen of Aviston, and Jenna (Shawn) Beel of Breese; grandchildren, Drew, Emma, and Phillip Wesselmann, Jack Dierkes, Samuel Hansen, and Bryson and Bennett Beel; three sisters, JoAnne (Alan) Kerschner of Park City, UT, Anita Hansen of Rochester, NY, and Mary (Bill) Krueger of Americus, KS; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dixie and Tony Johnson and Beverly and Tom Pitzer all of Kewanee, IL, and David Headley of Colorado Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sheldon & Lois Headley. Mr. Hansen was the owner of Hardee’s in Breese and Carlyle. He enjoyed hunting pheasant, quail, and dove, gardening, motorcycles, and spending time with his grandkids. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in Breese with Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Burial will follow at Ellwood Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to the National MS Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
