Harold G. Maue, 92, of Damiansville, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Cedarhurst Senior Living in Breese. He was born February 16, 1926 in Breese, the son of Joe and Sophia, nee Hollenkamp, Maue. He married Veronica C. “Vera” Poettker on June 25, 1947 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston and she preceded him in death May 4, 2009.
Harold is survived by his children, Dave (Marian) Maue of Bartelso, Roger (Holly) Maue of Trenton, and Barb Maue of Shiloh; close family friend, Kim Shevlin; six grandchildren, Kim (Ryan) Macy, Allison (Doug) Hicks, Brent (Maritza) Maue, Adam (fiancé, Rachelle Cronk) Maue, Katrina (Stan) Todd, and Mark (Teri) Maue; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Everett, Chloe, Aidan, Colton, Jacob, Asher, Owen, Charlie, Fletcher, Andi, Cami, and Kade; a brother, Don Maue of Breese; two sisters, Janette Beckmann of Germantown, and Irene Maue of Breese; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Maue of Breese, Delores Maue of Trenton, and Bernice Poettker of Aviston.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene, Joe, Aloys “Butch”, and Gregory Maue; two sisters, Ann Langhauser and Bernice Huelsmann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gene Langhauser, Vince Huelsmann, Julie Maue, Ralph Beckmann, Mary Maue, Victor Poettker, Vincent Poettker, Ida & Henry Ottensmeier, Rose & Alfred Woltering, Dorothy Poettker, Alvina & Ben Ottensmeier, and Leona & Leo Ottensmeier.
Mr. Maue retired as a farm manager from Southern Farms in 1990. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy where he served in the Asiatic Pacific area. Harold was a member of St. Damian’s Parish and Holy Name, Mater Dei Fathers and Friends, and the Albers American Legion Post 1026.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Rev. Jim Buerster and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Damian Cemetery in Damiansville.

Memorials may be made to St. Damian Parish or to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
