Harriet H. Quinn of Carlyle passed away at the Carlyle Healthcare Center on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the age of 103 years old. She was born in Beckemeyer on July 10, 1916, the daughter of William and Augusta (Wulze) Zinschlag. She married Hubert Quinn on June 12, 1940 at St. Mary’s Church Rectory in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1974.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Walker of Carmi, IL; a son, Bob Quinn and wife Nancy of California, MD; four grandchildren: Julie Logan and husband Dennis, Emily Quinn McGarrity, Kevin Quinn and wife Christy, and Alex Walker; six great grandchildren: Claire, Claudia, Sean, Quinn, Madeline, and Allison; a niece, Dottie O’Connell and two nephews: Howard Zinschlag and Tom Quinn.
In addition to her mother, father, and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Myrtle Newkirk, Sylvia Stewart, Florence May, and Paul Zinschlag; as well as a nephew, Bill Newkirk.
Mrs. Quinn enjoyed playing bingo, watching the game show network, and working word search puzzle books.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Carlyle Healthcare Center for the loving care and friendship given to Harriet. They are all considered surviving family members too.
A graveside service will take place at the Carlyle Township Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials in memory of Harriet are suggested to the Carlyle Healthcare Center Activity Department and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231
