Hayter, Mona

Mona F. Hayter, 81, of New Baden, IL died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL. She was born December 3, 1929 in Washington Park, IL, daughter of Peter and Edna I. (Cook) Bartholomy. She married Fred L. Hayter on December 24, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2007. She is survived by a son, Bruce Hayter and wife Debby of Cary, NC; a daughter, Kathy Vale and husband Jim of Indianapolis, IN; two granddaughters, Amanda and Courtney; and a great grandson, Jessie Lane Arnold. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Bartholomy and Johnny Bartholomy and a sister, Wanda Norsic. Mrs. Hayter was a homemaker and a former member of Eastview Baptist Church, Victory Free Will Baptist Church and New Baden Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Pastor Ron McGrew officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 and from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
