Nora C. Heimann, 90, of Damiansville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL. She was born July 12, 1916 in Damiansville, daughter of Henry and Helen (Olliges) Horstmann. She married Louis F. Heimann on April 29, 1936 in Damiansville and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1989. Mrs. Heimann is survived by one son, Melvin Heimann and wife Yvonne of Breese, IL; seven daughters, Aurea Frerker and husband David of Glen Carbon, IL, Audrey Kolar and husband Ron of Damiansville, IL, Norma Ottensmeier and husband Ralph of Granville, OH, Grace Walker and her former spouse Norman Wacker of Cambridge, ME, Marlene Carmack and husband Allan of Salem, OR, Donna Goldman and husband John of Evanston, IL, and Lois Kalmer and husband Rodger of Damiansville, IL; twenty grandchildren, Dean Frerker and wife Michel, Duane Frerker and wife Erika, Darryl Frerker and wife Carol, Andy Frerker, Laurie Wohlfiel and husband Terry, Dawn Ottensmeier, Lisa Crock and husband Brian, Eleda Wacker and fiancé Oliver, Ria Wacker, Ryan Heimann and wife Laura, Kyle Heimann, Amy Heimann, Beth Heimann, Jenny Heimann, Kurt Heimann, Max Goldman, Anna Goldman, Christopher Kalmer, Joel Kalmer, and Shannon Kalmer; one step granddaughter, Kerry Garrett and husband Todd; 15 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence "Clem" Horstmann of Beckemeyer, IL, Elmer Horstmann of Bartelso, IL, and Leander "Lindy" Horstmann and wife Florence of Damiansville, IL; and one sister, Irene Horstmann of Damiansville, IL. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lester Heimann; a grandson, Bart Kolar; a sister, Loretta Heimann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen Horstmann, Virginia Horstmann, Joseph Heimann, Jack and Louise Heimann, George and Millie Heimann, Frances and Joe Klostermann, Rose and Casper Richter, Mary and Frank Netemeyer, and Maggie and Leo Richter. Mrs. Heimann was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Damian Parish and Ladies Sodality; Albers American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary; St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary in Breese, IL; Germantown Senior Citizens; Clinton County Farm Bureau and the Damiansville Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed quilting, family gatherings, playing cards and Christmas. A funeral mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville, IL with Msgr. Don Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Damian Cemetery in Damiansville, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
