Margaret M. “Margie” Heinzmann, 53, of Breese, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at her home. She was born January 11, 1959 in Breese, daughter of Anthony A. “Tony” and Leona F. (Voss) Rakers. She married Joe Heinzmann on June 4, 1983 at St. Francis Church in Aviston and he survives in Breese. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Craig (special friend, Amanda) Heinzmann of Breese and Adam Heinzmann of Edwardsville; five brothers and one sister, Jerome (Edna) Rakers, Donald J. (Ruth Mary) Rakers, Mary O’Brien, and Walter “Peepers” Rakers, all of Aviston, Howard (Marilou) Rakers of Breese and Anthony J. “Jr.” (Mary) Rakers of Trenton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Brenda Heinzmann of Steelville, Gerry Heinzmann of New Baden, and Mary Jane and Leo Wagner of Tuscaloosa, AL; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold “Joe” and Verla Heinzmann of New Baden. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Matthew Allen Heinzmann on November 14, 2011; and a brother-in-law, Tom O’Brien. Mrs. Heinzmann was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in the nursery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, the pediatric office of Dr. Elizabeth Franczyk in Centralia and later worked in pediatrics in Home Health Care. She was a member of St. Augustine Parish and a member and past president of St. Monica’s Altar Sodality. She was also an honorary member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary in Breese. Margie was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1977 and a graduate of the LPN program at Rend Lake College. In 2010 she wrote a book, Cancer My First Twenty Years. She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, golf, shooting pool and all sports. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. span Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012 and from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay For Life and will be received at the funeral home.
