Helen M. Hemann

Helen M. Hemann, 102, of New Baden, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden. She was born March 16, 1915 in New Baden, the daughter of John and Marie (Schlosser) Malina. She married Orville J. Hemann August 24, 1939 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden and he preceded her in death February 20, 2004.

She is survived by her children, William “Bill” (Judy) Hemann of New Baden and Marlene Cuthbert of Lockport; grandchildren, David Cuthbert, Donald Cuthbert, Kathy Christiana, Jackie Hemann, and Clinton Hemann; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Drew, Nicole, David, Samantha, and Jessica; and great-great-grandchildren, Victor and Luke.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Peters and Fronie Valerius, three brothers, Emil, Adolph, and Joe Malina; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank & Rose Marie Bux, Robert & Berdelle Hemann, Adeline & Eugene Willmann, and Robert & Virginia Kiefer.

Mrs. Hemann was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George Parish, Christian Mothers, and Altar Sodality, and the New Baden Senior Citizens.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden.

Memorials may be made to St. George Parish Cemetery Fund or the Window Restoration Fund and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
