Henry “Hank” August Feldmann, 87, of Aviston, died Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his home. He was born April 16, 1932 at the family home in Aviston, the son of Herman and Anna, nee Timmermann, Feldmann. He married Mary Lou Ottensmeier October 23, 1957 in Trenton and she survives in Aviston.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel Feldmann, Gary Feldmann, Tim (Shelly) Feldmann, Mark Feldmann (special friend, Michele Sakamoto), Peggy (Mike) Rakers all of Aviston, and Carol (Neil) Hustedde of Breese; Grandchildren Megan Feldmann, Michael Feldmann, Megan (Brandon) Holtmann, Beth (Nick) Grapperhaus, Benjamin Feldmann, Blake (Jillian) Feldmann, Trent Feldmann, Drew Rakers, Nathan Rakers and Jacob Hustedde; Great Grandchildren, Kylee Eversgerd, Zoey Holtmann, and Olivia Holtmann; he is also survived by his sister, Antoinette Feldmann, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bernice Kampwerth, Norb Ottensmeier, Gene Ottensmeier, Jim Ottensmeier, Pat Ottensmeier, Charlene & Rich Hesker, Rita Ottensmeier, and Mike Kirkland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Schrage, Lucille Feldmann, and Mary Feldmann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wib Kampwerth, Dee Ottensmeier, Marcellus Ottensmeier, Dorothy Kirkland, Bernie Ottensmeier, Paula Ottensmeier, and Charlie Schrage.
Family, Farming and Faith were the cornerstones of Henry's life. He was a lifetime farmer, devoted husband and father, American Legion Post 1239 member, Trenton VFW member, Farm Bureau member, Korean War Veteran, Member of St. Francis Parish and Funeral Mass Server, and delivered Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, woodworking, golfing, and spending time with his family.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish Building Fund, Mater Dei High School, or to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
