Herzing, Ronald

Ronald G. Herzing, 56 of New Baden, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born November 6, 1952 in Breese, son of Alfred and Knola (Haas) Herzing. He is survived by his children, Janice (Andrew) Harrison of Swansea, Ronald Herzing of New Baden, Sarah (Sterling) Shaw of Belleville, and Sadie Shaw of Belleville; five grandchildren, Joseph Tipton, Jacob Herzing, Cody Webb, Delaney Herzing and Savannah Shaw; one brother and three sisters, Darlene Schubert of Mt. Vernon, Ralph (Mary) Herzing of Maryville, Dolores Kehrer of Highland, Diane (Brian) Meyer of Aurora; a sister-in-law, Theresia Herzing of New Baden, and a brother-in-law, Ted Honer of Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marilyn Honer; a brother, Raymond A. Herzing; and a brother-in-law Don Schubert. Mr. Herzing was merchandiser for Anderson News. He was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. He enjoyed playing golf and all other sports. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The National Kidney Foundation and will be received at the funeral home.
