Norbert G. Hollenkamp, 84, of Aviston, Ill., died Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at Caring First in Breese. He was born April 5, 1921 in Aviston, Ill. son of John C. and Bertha (Sudholt) Hollenkamp. He married Estella M. Wiegmann on October 18, 1944 at St. George Church in New Baden and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2005. He is survived by his children, Dennis Hollenkamp of Damiansville, Ron Hollenkamp and wife Diane of Aviston, Norman Hollenkamp of Nashville, Rich Hollenkamp and wife Mary of Breese, Janice Haas and husband Carl of Bowling Green, KY., Marvin Hollenkamp and wife Jane of Aviston, Margie Kiefer and husband Wayne of New Baden, and Eileen Boeckmann and husband Jim of Breese; 29 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Bruening of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lorene Hollenkamp of O’Fallon, Eleanor Wiegman of Carlyle, Elsie Wiegmann of Trenton, Pauline Lohman of New Baden and Marie & Virgil Hollenkamp of New Baden; daughter-in-law Ag Wellen and husband Butch of Highland. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hollenkamp was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hollenkamp; four brothers, Severian Hollenkamp, Ralph Hollenkamp, James Hollenkamp & John G. Hollenkamp; daughters-in-law Luella Hollenkamp and Betty Hollenkamp; Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Paul Bruening, Arthur Lohman, Alphonse Wiegman, Raymond and Frances Wiegmann, Edward and Leona Wiegmann and William Wiegmann. He was a member of St. Francis Parish. He was a retired farmer and enjoyed playing cards. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2005 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mater Dei High School or St. Francis Church and will be received at the funeral home.
