Francie Huegen, 64, of Albers, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Clinton Manor in New Baden. She was born March 9, 1943 in Germantown, daughter of Mathias J. "Matt" and Dorothy (Albers) Haukap. She married Stan Huegen on April 8, 1964 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown and he survives in Albers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tammy Schrage and husband Butch of Damiansville and Missy Ruppel and husband Joe of Bartelso; one son, Corey Huegen and wife Lynn of Aviston; five grandchildren, Mason Schrage, Simon Ruppel, Dillon, Leann and Jenna Huegen; two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Ruppel; one sister, Marilyn Haake of Germantown; one brother, Roger Haukap of Damiansville; father-in-law, Arnold F. Huegen of Albers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edwin "Ep" Varel of Carlyle, Lee and Janet Huegen of North Port, FL, and Sandy and Bob Schulte of Albers; and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Irlene Varel; one brother-in-law, Tom "Toby" Haake and her mother-in-law, Bernadine Huegen. Mrs. Huegen was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish, the church choir and she also taught religion. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, St. Bernard’s Memorial Fund or Basket of Hope ( www.basketofhope.org ) and will be received at the funeral home.
