Agnes M. Huelsmann, 97, of New Baden, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at her home. She was born September 20, 1917 in Bartelso, daughter of Edward and Margaret (Budde) Trame. She married Joseph H. Huelsmann on November 12, 1941 in Beckemeyer and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1970. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Jim) Kolstad of Carmel, IN, Pam (Ben) Kohlbrecher of Trenton, and Wayne Huelsmann of New Baden; seven grandchildren, Angie (David) Barajas, Chuck (Julie) Buehler, Andrea (Brad) Gonso, Jeff (fiancee, Mandy Singler) Kohlbrecher, Nicole (special friend, Peter Krupp) Kohlbrecher, Ryan (special friend, Kristen Groennert) Huelsmann, and Brad (special friend, Ali Villmer) Huelsmann; six great-grandchildren, Andrew Buehler, Nicholas Buehler, David Barajas, Beckett Gonso, Avery Gonso, and Benson Gonso; one brother, Edwin (Loretta) Trame of Breese; sisters-in-law, Lucille Trame of Beckemeyer and Agnes Hempen of Carlyle; brothers-in-law, Clem Horstmann of Breese, William Huelsmann of Pierron, and Richard Albers of Bartelso. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Margaret Harris in 2001, and Nancy Huelsmann in infancy; two brothers, Henry V. Trame and Alphonse Trame; two sisters, Helen Horstmann and Leona Wiegmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Viola Trame, Edward Wiegmann, Leo & Viola Huelsmann, Edwin & Marie Huelsmann, Ray Hempen, and Marie Albers. Before her retirement, Mrs. Huelsmann was a supervisor and seamstress at the Martha Manning Dress Co. in Mascoutah. She was a member of St. George Parish and Altar Sodality in New Baden and the New Baden Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, playing cards, and traveling. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to the St. George Parish Building Fund or to the Western Clinton County Senior Services Meals on Wheels and will be received at the funeral home.
