Irene O. Huelsmann, 78, of Breese, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at her home. She was born March 28, 1933 in Bartelso, daughter of August and Irene (Hilmes) Fehrmann. She married Andrew A. Huelsmann on August 31, 1955 in Bartelso and he survives in Breese. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Marcia (Cliff) Williamson of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mikel (Kathy) Huelsmann, Gary Huelsmann, Craig (Joyce) Huelsmann, and Beth (Darren) Wise all of Breese, Tona (Dan) Glarner of St. Louis, Mo and Jodi (Kyle) Klingenberg of Okawville; 11 grandchildren, Daniel "D.J." Huelsmann, Kelly & Tyler Williamson, Chelsi, Chase, Ellen, and John Huelsmann, Allyson & Carlee Wise, and Cole & Reed Glarner; two step grandchildren, Keith (Thera) Maue and Kyle Maue; brothers and sisters, Betsy (Joe) Hempen of Breese, Auggie (Grace) Fehrmann of Damiansville, Frances "Hap" (Frank) Peters of Carlyle, Tony (Cheryl) Fehrmann of Breese, Marty (Paul) Wellinghoff of Alton, Cleo (Jack) Wilken of Bartelso, Thom Fehrmann of Urbana and Theda (Severin Wellinghoff) Fehrmann of Newburgh, IN; brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Pat Fehrmann of Breese, Willene Fehrmann of Highland, Marcella & Tony Timmermann, Al & Rite Mourlam and Danny & Jeanette Huelsmann all of Breese, and Pat Guest of Winter Haven, FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Lee Andrew Williamson; two brothers, Cletus A. "Buck" Fehrmann and Paul Fehrmann; a sister, Rita Dressel; brothers-in-law, Ken Dressel, Tom Holtgrave, Ralph Huelsmann and Wally Guest; a sister-in-law, Helen Huelsmann; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Laura (Holtgrave) Huelsmann. Mrs. Huelsmann retired from Carlyle Healthcare in 1998. She was a member of St. Augustine Parish and St. Monica Ladies Sodality in Breese and was also a member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary in Breese. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid quilter and stitcher. She was also a very active volunteer at St. Augustine Parish. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Parish, All Saints Academy or Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
