Huelsmann, Leona

Leona T. Huelsmann, 89, of St. Rose, died Tuesday August 21, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born December 31, 1917, in St. Rose daughter of Anton and Rose (Schrage) Huelsmann. She is survived by two sisters, Johanna Thole of Highland and Beatrice Grapperhaus of Breese; nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Kauling, Anthony & Doris Huelsmann, Rosemary Huelsmann, James & Kathy Thole, Dr. John & Jean Thole, Duane & Carol Grapperhaus, David & Diane Grapperhaus, & Donna & Stephan Lancey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alphonse Huelsmann; one sister, Loretta Jenkins; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Irma Huelsmann, Virgil Jenkins, Wilbert Thole and Herman Grapperhaus and one nephew, Joseph Kevin Kauling. Leona was retired from Basler Electric Company in Highland. She was a member of St. Rose Parish and Ladies Sodality. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007, at St. Rose Church in St. Rose with Rev. Ed Schaefer and Rev. Patrick Peter Concelebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospital or to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
