Joseph V. Hustedde, 91, of Breese, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born February 11, 1920 in Breese, son of Henry and Elizabeth (Timmermann) Hustedde. He married Lucille L. Winter on October 24, 1946 in Highland and she survives in Breese. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mary E. (Charles) Litteken of Aviston, Ruth A. (Leonard) Holtgrave of St. Rose, Thomas J. (Jan) Hustedde of Breese, and John P. (Leann) Hustedde of St. Rose; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank Hustedde, Edwin Hustedde, and Gerhard Hustedde; three sisters, Josephine Hustedde, Viola Becker, and Mary Hitpas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laura Hustedde, Victor Becker, Edwin Hitpas, Cecelia Hustedde and Alvina Hustedde, Marie and John Baker, Leonard and Arline Winter, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Stella Winter. Mr. Hustedde was the manager for ASC office for 48 years. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Men’s Club and Knights of Columbus Council 2869 in Breese and a former member of St. Dominic Cemetery Board, Parish Council, school board and the Resurrection Choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and flowers. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter and Rev. William Hitpas concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. The Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Church or to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
