Peggy Rose Iler, 76, of Aviston, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. She was born November 12, 1933 in East St. Louis, IL, daughter of Francis and Susan (Kimme) Blow. She married Thomas E. Iler on June 21, 1958 at St. Patrick Church in East St. Louis and he survives in Aviston. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Deborah Strubhart of Aviston and James E. (Tommie Ann) Iler of El Paso, AR; three grandchildren, Heather (Jeremy) Meadows, Joshua (Melissa) Iler, and Nicholas Strubhart; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (Connie) Blow of Kittery,ME, and Gary Blow of Piedmont, MO; a sister, Marie (Roger) Henry of Ruma, IL; she is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Blow. Mrs. Iler was a secretary at Scott Air Force Base for over 30 years. Following her retirement she worked in the admissions office at McKendree College. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston. Private family services have been held. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be received at Hempen Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
