Jack Lee Gouy

Jack Gouy, age 86, of Beckemeyer passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Breese Nursing Home. Mr. Gouy was born on February 5, 1930 in Champaign, IL. He married Betty Gouy in San Antonio, TX on September 14, 1951 and she survives in Beckemeyer.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons John (Michelle) Gouy and Richard Gouy, both of Granite City; his daughters Margaret Waits of Granite City and Judith (Eddie) Fansher of Jerseyville; and nine grandchildren.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a machinist and for the maintenance department at Southwestern Illinois College in Granite City. Mr. Gouy was the former Pastor at Temple Baptist Church in Madison. Jack could hold a conversation with anyone and was always working. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Beckemeyer.

Mr. Gouy chose to be an Anatomical Donor to the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Beckemeyer and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
