James "Jimmy" Broeckling

James “Jimmy” Broeckling, age 81, of Odin passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Odin HealthCare Center. He was born on June 29, 1938 in Carlyle, Illinois the son of John and Opal (Hetzel) Broeckling. He married Mary Jane Roll in Centralia, Illinois on December 1, 2011 and she preceded him in death.
In addition to his mother, father, and wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hetzel, a sister Mary Alice Schaeffer; his brothers-in-law: Charles D. Brewer and Victor Schaeffer; his nephew, Richard Hetzel.
He is survived by a sister, Joann Brower of Bowling Green, KY; a sister-in-law, Mary Hetzel of Huey; and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved his late wife Mary Jane and his family especially his two very special dogs Muffin and Gus.
Funeral services for Mr. Broeckling will be private. Interment will take place at Carlyle Township Cemetery.
