Janae Eileen Becker

Janae Eileen Becker, age 73, of Beckemeyer, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. She was born to the union of Frank J. and Estelle E., nee Terveer, Haas on November 29, 1948 in Belleville. She married Kenneth Becker Sr. at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah on July 8, 1967 and he survives in Beckemeyer.

In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, she is survived by her children: Jeff Becker and wife Angie of Carlyle, Karen Rainge of O’Fallon; daughter-in-law, Tracy Becker of Beckemeyer; her grandchildren, Chase, Mitchell, and Madeline Becker, Amber and Nathan Rainge, Alex, Alyssa, Shaun, and Trent Becker; her siblings: LeAnn Stein, Sharon Henss and husband Richard, Cheryl Fehrmann and husband Tony; her in-laws: Donald Becker and wife Bernell, Jerry Becker and wife Dianne, Stan Becker and wife Debbie, Dave Becker and wife Pat, Mary Ellen Mueller and husband Dan, and Dennis Becker; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Becker was preceded in death by her father, Frank J. Haas; her mother, Estelle Peek; step-father, Cyril Peek; her son, Kenneth Becker, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard & Adele Becker; brother-in-law, Joe Stein; and nieces, Tina Becker, Shelena Henss, and Jennifer Becker.

Janae was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle. She worked for many years as a clerical assistant for Dr. Sosa in Germantown. After retirement, she volunteered with the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary where she designed and created floral arrangements that were sold in the hospital gift shop. She was well versed in family genealogy, history, and current events. Janae was known by her family and friends for her quick wit and sense of humor. She enjoyed weekly social events with her friends, antiquing, and her monthly card club gatherings. She was an avid Mater Dei Basketball Fan. Janae was an integral part of her grandchildren’s lives, truly enjoying and never missing school related activities. Janae served as an election judge in Clinton County for several years. Above all, Janae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her memory will truly be cherished.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Carlyle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022from 8:30 until 10:45 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle.

Memorials made in memory of Janae are suggested to Clinton County Senior Services Meals on Wheels Program, St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Mater Dei High School and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231 who is serving the family.
