Janet S. Taylor

Janet "Jan" Taylor, 64, of Carlyle, IL died Friday, November 1st, 2013 at St. Joseph's hospital in Breese, IL surrounded by her family and friends. Jan was born on September 2, 1949 in Belleville, Illinois the daughter of Harold and Esther (Keller) Gain. She married Gerald “Jerry” Taylor on September 18, 1976.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Esther (nee Keller) Gain, a brother Ronald Gain, 2 sisters Nancy Rensing and Judy Kraus, her mother and father-in- law John and Linda Taylor; 2 brother-in-laws Earl Rensing and Ray Kraus; and a sister-in-law Joan Gain.

Surviving is her husband of 37 years Gerald "Jerry" Taylor; her daughter: Jennifer (Jeremy) Spaeth of Aviston, IL; her son Mark: (Shannon) Taylor of Carlyle, IL; her beloved grandson: Brennan Taylor of Carlyle, IL; her sister Carolyn (William) Faries of Belleville, IL; sister-in-law: Rosemary Gain of Mesa, AZ; her brother-in-law: Jack (Pat) Taylor of Middletown, RI; her sister-in-law: Janice (John) Hayward of Newport, RI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jan enjoyed her retirement by spending time with family and attending Gateway Grizzlies’ baseball games. More than anything she enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her grandson Brennan.

Visitation will be held at Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle, IL on Tuesday, November 5th from noon until 3:30 pm.

Memorial service will be held also on Tuesday at Frerker Funeral Home at 3:30 P.M. with Pastor Chuck Cange officiating. A small reception will be held after the service at the Carlyle VFW from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to the Taylor family and will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is handling the arrangements.
