Jeanne Lea Kleber

Jeanne Lea Kleber, age 73, of Carlyle passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon. She was born in Centralia, IL on December 24, 1947 the daughter of Lloyd and Dorris (Jones) Adams. She married Edward H. Kleber Sr. on August 24, 1970 in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2010.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter LeAnn Albert; her sister Ruthann Adams and her brother Billy Adams.

Mrs. Kleber is survived by her children: two daughters Melissa Vohlken and husband Kevin of Smithboro, Danita Bohle and husband Tony of Port St. Lucie, Florida; two sons: Scott Kleber and wife Dawn, Edward “Bug” Kleber, Jr. and wife Jean, all of Carlyle; son-in-law, Jimmy Albert of Lockhart, Texas; grandchildren: Charity, Meagan, Justin, Jaron, Trent, Trisha, Taylor, Kylea, and Riley; great-grandchildren: Madalyn, Caden, Mason, Logan, Messiah, Monroe, Madden, Paxton, Brynnlee, Lexie, Karson, and Brantley; her brother: Gary Adams; sister-in-law: Reva Grapperhaus and husband Ralph; brother-in-law: Anthony “Corky” Kleber; her dear friends Pauletta Goodin, Carolyn Isaak, and Marylou Robert; as well as many other friends and family members. Jeanne, or GG as her grandchildrens referred to her, was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinal’s Baseball. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her favorite entertainment was winning big on the slot machines. Jeanne retired from the Clinton County Treasurer's Office and was a member of the Eastern Stars.

Visitation will be held for the public from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date.

Memorials made in memory of Jeanne are suggested to the Mater Dei Volleyball program or Christmas in Carlyle and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
