Jerome “J.B.” Broeckling, age 63, of Germantown, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born February 15, 1953 in Breese, the son of Edward and Henrietta (Seelhoffer) Broeckling and they preceded him in death.
J.B. is survived by three sisters; Jane Broeckling and special friend Curt, Judy Albers and husband Rich, and Donna Mae Strubhart and husband Dennis; five brothers; Don Broeckling, Ed Broeckling and wife Jeanette, Dave Broeckling and wife Suz, Mark Broeckling, and Tom Broeckling and wife Lynn; along with many nieces and nephews.
J.B. was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, bingo, as well as fishing and hunting. Mr. Broeckling was an avid supporter of the Albers Jaycees and Lehrter Park in Albers.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Family and Friends may call from 7:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Broeckling are suggested to the American Cancer Society or John Cochran Veterans Hospital and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
