Joetta Elaine Schmidt

Joetta Elaine Schmidt, age 60, of Breese passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her residence. She was born on October 18, 1960 in Bitburg, Germany, the daughter of Herbert and Leah (Cook) Drummond. She married John Schmidt on October 30, 1998 in Carlyle, IL and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2016.

She is survived by her children: Merle (LaGreen) Barnhart, Leah (Mark) Pisaneschi, and Jessica (Jay) McGowin; her grandchildren: Alexander Joe, Olivia, Ben, Evalyn, Emerson, Quentin, Kahne, and her ninth grandchild is expected soon.

On March 25th 2021 Joetta Schmidt entered eternal rest. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, sister and friend. Her love for her friends and family is unmatched. Her loss will be deeply felt by all that knew her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden.

Memorials made in memory of Joetta are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 150 North Clinton Street, Breese, IL 62230.
