Judy J. Florczyk, passed away peacefully at her home in Damiansville on Saturday, August 31 2024, at the age of 86. Born in 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska, Judy was the daughter of William and Leona, nee Schaffer, Johnson. She married Robert D. Florczyk in 1954 in Omaha, NE and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Judy’s dedication as a stay-at-home mother helped shape the lives of her children. After her children left home, she discovered her passion for crafting. Her skillful hands brought joy to many as she sold her creations at local craft events, becoming a familiar face in the community she loved.
Judy is survived by her children: Robert A. (Cheri) Florczyk, Annette (Eddy) Garcia, David (Doris) Florczyk, Martin (Maureen) Florczyk, and Elaine (Stacey) Florczyk. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her grandchildren: Carolyn Armstrong, Meghan and Nicole Florczyk, Jason (Amy) Wesselmann, Scott (Laura) Wesselmann, Carl (Katie) Florczyk, Cassie (Josh) Cole, Donald Florczyk, and Justin (Heather) Florczyk. Judy was also a proud great-grandmother to Allison, Jennifer, Nicole, Oscar, Sarah, and Yorick Wesselmann; Drew, Emma, and Philip Wesselmann; Anna and Elyse Florczyk; Arya Cole; and Amsey and Aubrey Florczyk.
She is also survived by her sister, Myra Salbato, as well as her step-siblings Bill Clipson, Michele Clipson, and Linda Clipson, who shared in her life and the love she so freely gave.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a great-grandson, Mathew Wesselmann, and her brother-in-laws Anthony Salbato and Wayne Florczyk.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville, Illinois, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family or to Murray Parent's Association and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover St., New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
