Julian “Julie” Albers, 82, of New Baden, died Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Breese Nursing Home. She was born December 28, 1932 in Bartelso, daughter of George and Frances (Gross) Vandeloo. She married Robert J. Albers on October 5, 1954 in Bartelso and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2010.
Mrs. Albers is survived by her children: Ronald H. (Cheri) Albers, Ellen (Dale) Litteken, and Bryan (Ann) Albers all of Trenton; grandchildren, Curt (Leah) Albers of Aviston, Jamie (Eric) Henken, Craig (Rachel) Litteken all of Germantown, Krista (Jeremy) Lanter of Breese, Ashley Litteken (special friend Nick Deiters), Rebecca and Elizabeth Albers all of Trenton; great-grandchildren: Kale, Maxwell, and Layna Albers, Zane and Zander Henken, Alex and Kyler Litteken, and Myla Lanter; a sister: Jane Huels of Carlyle; and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Vandeloo of Carlyle and Blanche Vandeloo of Bartelso.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Justin Vandeloo and George Vandeloo, and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Bernard Huels and Raymond & Florence Albers.
Mrs. Albers was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. George Parish and Altar Sodality, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 321 in New Baden. Julie enjoyed playing bingo, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Fr. George Mauck officiating. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery in New Baden.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.
Memorials may be made to St. George Parish or to the charity of donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
