Diane L. Kahrhoff, 60, of Aviston, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her home. She was born May 31, 1951 in Breese, daughter of Edward F. and Elizabeth S. “Alice” (Sprehe) Woltering. She married Herbert A. Kahrhoff in Aviston on February 11, 1972 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2000. She is survived by her children, Jenny (Mike) Jansen of Aviston, Terry (Dee) Kahrhoff of Trenton, Jamie (Joshua) Cigliana of Collinsville, Brad Kahrhoff and Darrell Kahrhoff both of Aviston; a special nephew, Mark McKinney and his fiancée, Michelle of Breese; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Jansen, Asia Jansen, Riley Kahrhoff, Devon Kahrhoff, Ayden Kahrhoff, Maria Kahrhoff, Juliano Cigliana, Rosalyn Cigliana, Isabella Kahrhoff, and Alyse Kahrhoff; a brother, Dennis (Diane) Woltering of Aviston; two sisters, Carol McKinney of Mt. Vernon and Shirley (Gary) Detmer of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raymond and JoAnn Kahrhoff of Beckemeyer, Thomas Kahrhoff of Woodlawn, Kathleen and Duane Eversgerd and Agnes Netemeyer all of Beckemeyer, Dorothy and Dennis Detmer of Breese, Helen and Bob Detmer of St. Rose and Ruth Ann and August Rose of Huey. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Bernard Kahrhoff in infancy; a brother-in-law, Stanley McKinney; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Rose Kahrhoff. Diane was a housekeeper at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Maschhoff’s, Lager Monument, Hempen Funeral Home and DCA Construction. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston. She was also a member of and served as secretary for American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers. Diane’s greatest joy was taking care of her family. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman and Deacon Charles Litteken officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Clinton County Relay For Life and will be received at the funeral home.
