Minnie Kapustas, 97, of New Baden, IL, formerly of Royalton, IL died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden, IL. She was born on December 12, 1910 in Royalton, IL daughter of James and Maria (Troccono) Laurenti. She married Albert J. Kapustas on September 23, 1944 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2006. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Joseph Blazine, Msgr. James Blazine, Carolyn & Don Judge, James & Vicki Laurenti, Cathy & Ed Foutch, Mary & Ron Welk and Ann Baker and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Laurenti and Charles Laurenti and three sisters, Viola Anderson, Elizabeth Gualdoni and Emma Blazine. Mrs. Kapustas was a member of St. George Catholic Church in New Baden, IL. She was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress who loved to sew. She was devoted to her nieces, nephews and family. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2008 at St. George Church in New Baden, IL, with Msgr. James Blazine officiating. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Royalton, IL. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2008 at St. George Church in New Baden, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Parish and will be received at the church or Hempen Funeral Home, 15 East Hanover, New Baden, IL., who is in charge of arrangements.
