Kathleen Kampwerth Hellige of Stockton, CA formerly of the Carlyle area died Monday June 1, 2009 at the age of 60 years. Kathleen was born October 9, 1948 in Breese, Illinois the daughter of Al B. and Dorothy (Kinder) Kampwerth. Kathleen married Bill Hellige at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer on October 9, 1971.Kathleen is survived by her husband: Bill; two sons: Chris Hellige and wife Kari of Reno, Nevada and John Hellige and special friend Jena Weaver of Stockton, California; two sisters: Marabeth Petermeyer and husband Rich of rural Carlyle and Sr. Virginia Kampwerth P.H.J.C. of Donaldson, Indiana; mother-in-law: Dorothy Hellige of Highland; brother-in-law: Dr. Bob Hellige of Highland; nieces and nephews: Rick Petermeyer and wife Michelle of Springfield, IL, Greg Petermeyer and wife Kim of Breese, IL, Eric Hellige of Chicago, Lea Murphy and husband Michael of Highland, IL and Lori Smith and husband Andrew of Jacksonville, IL; and Kara Hellige of Durango, Colorado; and 5 great nieces and 5 great nephews.Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Alan Kampwerth.In her professional life Kathleen worked in healthcare. While living in Illinois, Kathleen worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese and served as the Clinton County Nurse before moving to California and working as a hospice nurse.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Jim Van Dorn O.F.M. conv and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. The interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Friday from 6 to 8:00 P.M. or on Saturday from 8 to 10:00 A.M.For those who desire, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
