Kevin L. “George” Kehrer, 57, of Albers, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL. He was born March 11, 1957 in Belleville, IL son of Elmer J. and Margaret (Toennies) Kehrer. Kevin is survived by a brother, Gene (Pam) Kehrer of Aviston, IL; four sisters, Susan (Marion) Seidenstricker of Nashville, IL, Marikay (Rick) Gaertner of Belleville, IL, Geriann (Ron) Norrenberns of Albers, IL, and Diann (special friend, Ed Schallert) Kehrer of Maryville, IL; and a sister-in-law, Deb Kehrer of Albers, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dennis E. “Wheel” Kehrer and Maurice Kehrer. Kevin worked in the family business at EJ Kehrer Farm Supply in Albers, IL. He was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers, IL, the Albers-Damiansville Knights of Columbus Council 9768, the Clinton County Farm Bureau, and was a former member of the Albers Jaycees. He was a 1975 graduate of Mater Dei High School and trained as a mechanic at Rankin Technical College. He enjoyed softball, bowling, soccer and horseshoes. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, IL with Rev. Jack Joyce and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers, IL. The Knights of Columbus will have a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clin-Clair Fire Department and will be received at the funeral home.
