Mary M. Kennedy, 83, of New Baden, formerly of Alton, died Friday, January 18, 2008, at Clinton Manor in New Baden. She was born April 29, 1924 in Alton, daughter of Jesse L. and Grace M. (Hodge) Kennedy. She is survived by a sister, Marcella L. Rhoades of Alton and her dearest and closest friends, Jodi and Stacy Mayes of Okawville. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Heartland Hospice Chaplain Jonathan Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clinton Manor Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
