Adele V. Kennett, 92, of Albers, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton. She was born September 9, 1916 in Breese, daughter of George and Margaret (Lenz) Huser. She married Charles W. Kennett on October 16, 1946 in Germantown and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1978. Mrs. Kennett is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Jack) Laws of New Douglas; a son, Michael Kennett of Centralia; three grandchildren, Amanda (Donn) Rech, Lesley (Corey) Frazier and Joel (Melissa) Laws; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Gabe Frazier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Virginia Kennett of New Baden, Daniel & Viola Kennett, Woodrow LaCaze, Virginia Logsdon, and Eleanora Mueller all of Albers. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence Huser, Ed Huser, Joseph Huser and Rudolph Huser; two sisters, Bertha Bray and Catherine Flack; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Bray, Simon F. Flack, Franklin Kennett, Margaret LaCaze, John Logsdon, Victor Mueller and Eileen Kennett. Mrs. Kennett was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard Parish and Altar Sodality in Albers, the Daughters of Isabella Circle 718 and the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers. Adele liked quilting, being involved with her card club, cooking, baking and most of all she enjoyed her flower garden. She was always ready for visits from her children and grandchildren. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Don Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Horizon House, 8722 Jolliff Bridge Road, Centralia, IL 62801 and will be received at the funeral home.
